Why Earthing and Protection Are Critical

Solar and backup systems require correct earthing, bonding, surge protection and fault protection.

Electrical Safety Technical Guide

Engineering basis

Earthing, bonding and neutral-earth behaviour must remain correct while the installation operates from grid, inverter, battery or generator. The design must account for how each source supplies fault current and how automatic disconnection is achieved.

Design and verification requirements

Verify protective conductors, bonding, overcurrent devices, residual-current protection where applicable, surge protection, DC isolation, emergency shutdown, labelling and transfer arrangements. Record inspection and electrical test results before handover.

MicroSec technical workflow

  1. Confirm the client objective and operating modes.
  2. Measure and document the site conditions and load profile.
  3. Complete the electrical and energy design.
  4. Install to approved drawings and manufacturer requirements.
  5. Test, program, commission and record the final settings.
  6. Monitor performance and maintain the system through its service life.

Important: Final equipment selection, protection settings and compliance documentation require a site-specific assessment.
