Preparing a Site for a Solar Installation

The information and site checks needed before design and installation begin.

Planning Technical Guide

Engineering basis

A technical survey records supply and metering, distribution boards, protection, earthing, generator interfaces, interval load behaviour and an agreed essential-load schedule. Bills alone do not reveal peak or transient demand.

Design and verification requirements

The physical survey covers roof or ground condition, structure, shading, access, drainage, equipment spaces, ventilation, cable routes, fire and maintenance clearances. The resulting design brief defines objectives, approvals, future expansion, documentation and acceptance criteria.

MicroSec technical workflow

  1. Confirm the client objective and operating modes.
  2. Measure and document the site conditions and load profile.
  3. Complete the electrical and energy design.
  4. Install to approved drawings and manufacturer requirements.
  5. Test, program, commission and record the final settings.
  6. Monitor performance and maintain the system through its service life.

Important: Final equipment selection, protection settings and compliance documentation require a site-specific assessment.
