On-Site Helios Privacy Scan & Counter-Surveillance Assessment
MICROSEC GROUP • HELIOS COUNTER-SURVEILLANCE
On-Site Helios Privacy Scan & Counter-Surveillance Assessment
For clients who want a professional privacy assessment without installing or subscribing to the Helios software, MicroSec can bring Helios to the site and perform an authorised environment scan using a MicroSec-controlled laptop or tablet.
What the service is designed to identify
New or changed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth indicators
Unfamiliar network infrastructure and services
Changes against an authorised environment baseline
Recurring unexplained indicators
Cross-signal privacy anomalies
Supported device, permission and behaviour indicators
Findings that justify professional RF / TSCM escalation
Evidence-led by design: Helios distinguishes an indicator from a verified physical finding. A wireless identifier, signal level, network observation or software alert does not by itself prove that a hidden camera, microphone or covert device is present.
How an on-site Helios scan works
- Authorised scope: we confirm the rooms, offices, boardrooms, vehicles or other environments to be assessed.
- Environment baseline: Helios records the supported indicators expected to be present in that environment.
- Scan and compare: the environment is assessed for supported wireless, network and privacy indicators and compared against the baseline.
- Classify and score: findings are classified by type, confidence, recurrence and risk context.
- Preserve evidence: relevant observations, timestamps, notes and approved supporting evidence are recorded.
- Report and escalate: the client receives an evidence-led privacy assessment. Findings that require specialist RF, physical or TSCM inspection are escalated separately.

On-site privacy scan: common questions
Do I need to buy or install Helios software?
No. MicroSec can conduct a separately quoted, authorised on-site assessment using MicroSec-operated equipment. Helios software remains MicroSec intellectual property and is not transferred to the client.
Does a wireless scan prove an environment is free of surveillance devices?
No. Software-based wireless and network observations provide risk indicators, not proof of the presence or absence of every device. Specialist RF instrumentation or a physical technical surveillance countermeasures assessment may be recommended where justified.
Can MicroSec assess offices, boardrooms and executive meeting venues?
Yes. Subject to written authorisation, site conditions and agreed scope, MicroSec can assess suitable business and private environments across South Africa, with specialist equipment and travel quoted separately.
